Making

Images, words & objects

Photography, writing, and creative experiments that dwell at the intersections of the personal, relational, and political.

Photography

Paying attention through the lens

I offer sliding-scale portrait and documentary photography for individuals, families, and community gatherings. My approach is unhurried and relational. I also photograph weddings, births, celebrations, and other significant gatherings and transitions. I am drawn to gestures, relationships, and the quiet in-between moments — the parts of a life that are easy to overlook but often become the photographs we hold closest. I work primarily in Victoria, BC, and occasionally travel for projects. Photography is another way I practice attention: noticing what is already here, and making something that can be carried forward.

Writing & poetry

Language as a way of caring

I write poetry and essays that move between the personal and the political — through care, diaspora, motherhood, grief, and the textures of everyday life. My writing has travelled through academic conferences, community spaces, and other public gatherings.

I also make things with my hands: calligraphy, ritual objects, games, and small experiments in form. I don't experience these as separate from writing, or from the rest of my work. They are different ways of paying attention, making meaning, and caring for what we love
